As of this writing, so many people are still suffering fro the flood waters brought about by the recent typhoons that crossed the Philippine islands. Thousands have lost most if not all of their material possessions and a few hundred lost their lives. People have began to ask- is this a punishment from our God for all our hurting Mother Nature. Obviously in these circumstances one would be hard pressed to be grateful. But come to think of it, if we only consider things are temporary but count as most precious our relationships with God and our fellowmen then losing things could be seen from a different light. If during these trying times our relationships have grown deeper and stronger then we have so much to be thankful for!

When one is full of gratitude then it is so much easier to bear the trials that come our way. Some people like the Saints even gave thanks to God for the Crosses, big or small, that they receive, "counting it as pure joy" to be tried and tested. Indeed our Life itself should be a big Thank You note to our Creator. It is wise that at the end of the day we count our blessings so that we never cease to have a grateful heart for out of this gratitude we will find joy. Be thankful- always!
